Associate Teacher for Great Start Readiness Program
Location: Huron Park Elementary
Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Salary: $16,102 Annually
QUALIFICATIONS (Per State Grant):
Must minimally have one of the following:
- An associate’s degree (AA) in early childhood education or Child Development or the equivalent;
- A valid classroom CDA credential; or
- An existing 120 Hour compliance approval
- Ability and aptitude to work with four-year-old children in a preschool environment.
- Good Physical health.
- Record of excellent attendance.
JOB DUTIES:
- Work at the direction of the lead teacher to assist and develop the GSRP program.
- Supervise children and assist in all activities as necessary including lavatory, meals, snack, playground, arrival and dismissal.
- Assist in reinforcing programs set up for special problems.
- Dispense medication as may be assigned.
- Assist in maintaining organization in the classroom.
- Participate in in-service and training.
- Uses the Early Childhood Standards of Quality to guide instruction.
- Understands and implements the curriculum with fidelity.
- Uses Program Quality Assessment (PQA) results to make adjustments to better meet the needs of children.
- Help interview parents and conduct home visits.
- Assess students and keep detailed records of student learning and growth.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
