Work Year/Hours:                               10-1/2 Months

                                                         7 hours (6:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; subject to change at the discretion of the Food                                                                   Service Department)

Start Date:                                         Immediately

Salary:                                               $13.71 - $16.39 in 4 Steps

                                                         Additional Stipends for Serv Safe and SNA Certifications

Position Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to:)

1. Responsible for food and supply ordering.
2. Planning the preparation of menu items in proper quantities.
3. Preparing food according to a planned menu and tested, uniform recipes.
4. Maintaining accurate inventories.
5. Managing kitchen activities on a daily basis.
6. Completing all reports, record keeping, and sales data.

Position Requirements

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
2. Previous experience with quantity food preparation and service.
3. Completion of Manager’s Certification Course (or equivalent certification approved by MCHD); must maintain active status of certificate.
4. Completion of MDE Food Service Basics or equivalent course.
5. Demonstrated record of excellent attendance.
6. Good organization and math skills
7. Ability to lift 35 lbs and fulfill other physical requirements of the position.
8. Ability to perform job and communicate in a noisy environment.
9. Ability to establish and maintain effective, positive working relationships with co-workers, students, staff and the community.
10. Ability to perform duties in compliance with all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
